Network from databases or from user input

Protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks of the genes in the input dataset can be retrieved from the STRING database. This includes retrieving networks of orthologous genes from other organisms. Different cut-offs can be set.

Other types of networks can be loaded and visualized, including PPI networks, gene regulatory networks, metabolic pathways and any other kind of network of the user's choice. All networks are displayed using force-directed layout. Network nodes will be highlighted in red if there is a correspondence to the connections at the particular time point.

Right-clicking a node in the network will open a pop-up with links to different databases where information about the respective gene/protein can be searched. Links to the following databases are supported: UniProt, Ensembl, NCBI, KEGG.

These network present the same interactivity as the GO term networks.
